Lifeguard Supervisor
Job Description
The Lifeguard Supervisor (LGS) ensures the management, supervision and oversight of staff and individuals using the aquatic facility. Using a proactive, collaborative and detail-oriented approach, the LGS works with lifeguards on the establishment of clear work plans; assists in interviewing/hiring; onboards and trains staff; plans, assigns and directs work; maintains the schedule for lifeguards and swim instructors; resolves staff issues and problems; conducts staff training; ensures policy and legal compliance including documentation; maintains the schedule and acts as a substitute when needed; coordinates the emergency action plan; maintains daily and monthly work logs and chemical checks; maintains uniform inventory; and teaches American Red Cross Lifeguard classes. The LGS is responsible for communicating with the Aquatics Director and Assistant Aquatics Director to create a positive atmosphere that promotes community for members, lifeguards and swim instructors.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Valid ARC Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) Certification; CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid or completion of LGI Certificate within 6 months of being hired
- Valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification; CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid
- Minimum of one year of lead lifeguard experience preferred but not required
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with staff, colleagues and members
- Computer literacy to include but not limited to Outlook; Word; Excel; Power Point or Google Slides
- Ability to work with multiple departments to plan, schedule and coordinate programs
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- High school diploma preferred
